Holiday Traditions at Filoli 2012 — “Let There Be Magic!”Holiday Traditions After Event Sale Friday, November 23 through Saturday, December 1 Approach to the House during Holiday Traditions at Filoli. The Filoli mansion architect, Willis Polk was known for combining classical styles with “rustic” elements. So lives Mr. Polk’s vision for the theme of this year’s event, “Discover the Magic.” Included are new and old fantasy elements which will surprise and delight all ages. New fowl feathered friends have been located. Butterflies, nature and garden accents will be included in the merchandise and decorations. A modern–day wizard will charm the foyer Christmas trees, while old–fashioned garden gnomes will take their place as they would in a whimsical garden space. The kickoff to the nine–day event is the popular Premier Access Shopping Evening, Friday, November 23rd. Be the first to take in the decorations and fun shopping in a relaxed atmosphere. We are very happy and excited to announce a new band for the Saturday, November 24th Evening Dinner Party. Come join the Joe Sharino Band in the ballroom for concert style music, dancing and entertainment. In March of 2011, The Joe Sharino Band won their 17th Best Band Award from the 2011 Metro Magazine “Best of Silicon Valley Best of Readers 2011 Poll.” They are very charismatic and versatile, with the ability to energize their audience. There will be two delectable dinner buffet seatings, 6:30 and 8:00, in the Visitor and Education Center and Café. After dinner, return to the House for coffee and dessert and more time in the ballroom. During the balance of the week, enjoy shopping in the House and popular Lunch Buffets in the Visitor and Education Center venue. Or take a break and rest your feet as the Café is also open for coffee and a sweet snack as well as hot soup and sandwiches. We wrap up the 9th day of Holiday Traditions with our Children’s Luncheon. This event was sold out last year, so plan ahead for the date which includes fun food, a visit with Santa and children’s entertainment during the party in the Visitor Center, followed by musical entertainment in the House. Clear your calendar, plan for fun with family and friends and “let there be magic.”
