Friday, November 29 through Saturday, December 7
Each year Filoli’s historic House and Visitor and Education Center are transformed into a magical showcase of holiday décor and merchandise, gifts and exceptional personal and household items. Come to enjoy a delicious meal and then be delighted by the sights and sounds of “Ice Fantasy” themed decorations and musical groups while you shop. Guests to Holiday Traditions leave feeling the wonder and joy of the holiday season.

Ice Fantasy
There is an elegance in the simplicity of winter. Layers of white contrast sharply with the starkness of bare branches, matted textures, shadows, and sunlight. Light reflects off icy surfaces, winsome and majestic animals blend in. This year’s theme “Ice Fantasy” will take you to this world; “New Traditions” reflects the spirit of Holiday Traditions 2013.

With much thought, consideration and appreciation to our supporters who have made the Saturday Evening Dinner party your own tradition over the years, we have decided not to include the event in this year’s festivities. We have, instead, chosen to introduce some new traditions for 2013. Holiday Traditions opens in grand style Friday evening, November 29 with an Opening Night — Premiere Shopping event. Be one of the first to see the beautifully decorated House while live music, hors d’oeuvres and wine take you far away from the hustle and bustle outside Filoli’s gates. We expect the Opening Night celebration, as well as an added Saturday boutique shopping, expanded buffet luncheons throughout the week, and two evenings of Bistros in the Café will be warmly embraced as “new traditions” for your families.

The very popular Children’s Parties, held on the last day of Holiday Traditions, sold out again last year. We’ve added a third seating so that more of our youngest visitors will enjoy fun food, a warm welcome from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and special children’s entertainment during the parties in the Visitor and Education Center. Plan ahead as this special event sells out fast.

Join us for a perfect beginning to the Holiday Season that supports the preservation and stewardship of this most special place, Filoli.
