We offer a variety of tours to help enrich your Filoli experience. All tours are free with the price of admission. Prepaid advanced reservations are recommended, especially during April and May.

Groups at Filoli are considered 12 or more. Please call Visitor Services for group rate information.

House & Garden Tours

Guided by Filoli volunteer docents, these tours last approximately two hours. An hour is spent in the House and an hour is spent in the Garden. The walking is at a casual pace as the docents talk about each area. Tour times are Tuesday through Saturday at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. During April and May there is an additional tour at 11:30 am.

Nature Preserve Hikes

Filoli offers a wide range of hikes and walks through its Nature Preserve throughout the year for adults, families, and groups. For more information, see the flyer, Filoli Nature Experiences for Friends and Families (PDF 448K) and Filoli Nature Education for Schools (PDF 449K).

Sunset Hikes

Instructor: Filoli Nature Education Docent
Experience the tranquility of Filoli’s nature preserve in the light of the setting sun. Bring your family for a hike in the woodlands at dusk, the ideal time of day to spot our resident wildlife. Donít forget your cameras and binoculars! This is a two–hour hike on varied terrain. At times it can be strenuous. Please discuss any physical limitations with your docent before you head out.

Adult Fee: $10 members; $15 non–members. Child Fee: $5 members; $10 non–members. Child fee is good for ages 5 through 17. Children 5 and older are welcome; for safety reasons (narrow, steep and rocky) strollers and wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on the trails.


Additional Comments:
Entrance to Filoli after hours will begin at 5:30 pm. This walk starts at 6:00 p.m. and will leave from the Visitor and Education Center landing. Walks last about two hours and are docent guided. Late arrivals are not guaranteed participation. Please discuss any physical limitations with your docent before you head out. Please dress appropriately: closed toe shoes and layered clothing. Bring bottled water and a camera, if you like.

Orchard Walks

Led by Filoli Orchard Docents
The Gentlemen’s Orchard at Filoli is 6.8 acres in size and includes over 600 fruit tree varieties including apples, pears, plums, quince, apricots, nectarines, plums, nuts and more. It is an eclectic connoisseur’s collection of European and American varieties of fruits grown for the enjoyment of the family of the estate. Take a walk in our orchard and learn more about this defining landscape feature, taste fruit (when available) right off the tree and discover what Filoli is doing to conserve not only the rare fruits but the traditions of this unique heirloom orchard.

Fee: FREE for members: non–members $20 adults, $10 children. Children 7 and older are welcome. Non–member fee for morning walks includes same day admission to the House and Garden. For safety reasons (narrow, steep and rocky) strollers and wheelchairs cannot be accommodated in the Orchard.

*Orchard Walks are also available during our summer program, Discovering Nature at Filoli and during Autumn at Filoli Festivals on September 27.

Did you know that Filoliís Nature Preserve has more than seven miles of well-maintained trails crisscrossing six different types of native California habitat? Join experienced Nature Education Docents on a 2Ĺ hour hike to explore and learn about our natural landscape and wildlife. This is a hike on varied terrain; at times it can be strenuous. Please discuss any physical limitations with your docent before you head out. Strollers cannot be accommodated on the trails. Children 5 and older are welcome; for safety reasons (narrow, steep and rocky) strollers and wheelchairs cannot be accommodated on the trails.

Fee: Free for members or with paid admission to Filoli. Admission prices: $18 adults, $15 seniors (65 and older), $8 students.

  • Fee includes access to the House and Garden.
  • To make reservations, please contact Visitor Services.
  • Scout Troops and other groups can also plan a special hike. Please contact Visitor Services.
  • Filoli offers a variety of tours and hikes.

Dining Options for Groups

For your convenience the Café at Filoli offers you the opportunity to order box lunches. This gives you designated seating in the Café. The price is $15.00 per box lunch. The box includes a sandwich, side salad, brownie/cookie and beverage. A 50 percent deposit is due at booking. Final order and non–refundable payment is required two weeks prior to visit. For information on tour reservation and group lunch options please call Visitor Service at 650–364–8300, ext 208.
Picnicking is not allowed at Filoli.

Filoli is NOT available for fundraisers, auctions (live or silent), political events, parties, celebrations, weddings or commitment ceremonies.
