Filoli Flower Show“Filoli Goes to the Movies: Celebrating Films through Flowers” We invite you to join us for the Filoli Flower Show, where beautiful floral arrangements and magnificent table settings complement the splendor of the Filoli House and Gardens. Photo by Barbara Braun.More than 60 professional and amateur designers fill the rooms of the House and areas in the Gardens with creative vignettes and colorful, bountiful flowers. In addition, we feature children’s floral entries, garden art, educational and horticultural displays, and plant collections. There is something for everyone who loves and appreciates flowers! Filoli has been the setting over the years for a number of feature films as well as television series (Heaven Can Wait, Dynasty, Joy Luck Club, The Game, George of the Jungle, Wedding Planner, to name a few). This year we will celebrate the film industry’s contribution to entertainment with floral interpretations of favorite movies. Our show begins on Thursday evening, May 6, with the Opening Night Reception featuring the Friends’ Executive Board once again modeling vintage jewelry to add a festive flair to the Show’s exhibits. Guests are invited to stroll the gardens at twilight, view the floral arrangements, and enjoy musical entertainment while wine and hors d’oeuvres are served. From Friday through Sunday, Filoli’s historical Greenhouse will be open for touring. Flower chats will be held each day at 1:30 pm on the Dining Room Terrace. Musical entertainment will take place in the House and on the Tennis Court. The Flower Show showcases Filoli at its very best and has become an anticipated event. Reservations should be made in advance as tickets sell out quickly. During the Flower Show there is no room for strollers at the Teas or Brunches in the Visitor and Education Center. Advance ticket purchase is recommended. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. On Sunday, Cañada Road is closed from Highway 92 to Filoli's entrance. If you are coming to Filoli from the north, please follow these directions. Please note: Thursday, May 6 the House will be closed to visitors in preparation for the Filoli Flower Show. General admission to the Garden only will be $7 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm with the last admission at 2:30 pm.  Opening Night ReceptionThursday, May 6, 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm $75 members; $85 non-members; $200 per patron. Become a Patron of the 2010 Filoli Flower ShowPatron ticket proceeds will be used to help refurbish the brick pathways in the Garden. These walkways, an integral part of the original garden design, have suffered visible damage in recent years from expanding tree roots and tunneling gophers and rabbits. Each Patron ticket of $200 includes one ticket to the Opening Night Reception on Thursday, May 6. We will also provide two complimentary tickets for general admission on Friday, Saturday or Sunday; you may use these tickets for yourself or pass them along to a friend.
