Bring the Entire Family for Fun

This is a family event, that will delight children and adults alike.

The Bubblesmith is back to amuse everyone. The Fortis Agility Sports Training Group will put their adorable, talented dogs through their paces on the north side of the House. Nearby, we’ll have alpacas for viewing and a miniature horse for petting. Puppies in training to become Guide Dogs for the Blind will roam the property. A wonderful Clown, Easter Bunny and a Lady Bug will stroll through the Garden.

Filoli Orchid in the Greenhouse

Be sure to visit the Filoli greenhouses for a rare chance to see the behind–the–scenes operation.

In the Front Courtyard, children can have their face painted or try their creativity at the craft tables. Inside the House, you will be amazed by the stunning floral displays created by Filoli volunteers. In the Ballroom, Heather Rodgers will perform magic and a puppeteer will fascinate the audience with a puppet show. Cathy Rampley will be back again as our fabulous storyteller in the Library.

In the Garden Shop Courtyard, you will be able to sample Filoli products (honey, herb mixes and vinegars) as well as other tasty treats. The Filoli staff has gathered an assortment of goodies and treasures in the Garden Shop. Freshly–made popcorn is complimentary; lemonade, cookies and other beverages will be for sale.

For your musical pleasure, the Shorebirds Band will entertain near the Sunken Garden and Joe’s Jazz Ensemble will perform at the Tennis Court while you relax and enjoy your pre–ordered lunches. The boxed lunches must be ordered and paid for in advance. The Filoli Café is another option with a selection of choices to tempt the taste buds.

Garden Information Docents will be on hand to answer questions about the plants, trees and flowers on the estate. You can learn about the Gentlemen’s Orchard and Nature Education. During Spring Fling, you will have a rare opportunity for a behind–the–scenes peek at the Filoli Greenhouses. Children ages 3–12 can try their green thumb by potting a spring plant in a pot, which they decorate to take home. You may view an art exhibit entitled “Inspiring Destinations – A collection of Paintings by Jann Pollard for Karen Brown Guides.”

Please make your reservations as soon as possible, beginning Monday, February 25 because space is limited.

We hope you and your family will join us for Spring Fling at Filoli.
