Coach Adventures
October 2008 Coach Adventure
Thursday, October 9 or Thursday, October 16, departs from Filoli’s parking lot at 9:00 a.m.
Tickets on sale Monday, September 8.
Anticipating great interest in visiting the new building housing the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, two dates have been reserved there for our Coach Adventurers in October. It will be of special interest for those who visited the temporary site of the museum on Howard Street to compare those simple quarters to the state-of-the-art home the many valuable specimens now have. The building itself is architecturally unique, being environmentally friendly even to a “living roof” as part of the sustainable construction materials used. We will have docent-led tours to introduce us to this
remarkable building.
For lunch we will go to The Big Four Restaurant on Nob Hill, where we have enjoyed its hospitality several times previously. It is very “old San Francisco” and a pleasure to visit.
The price of this Coach Adventure is $85, which includes transportation, admission to the museum, lunch, taxes and tips. Alcoholic beverages are not included in this price but may be paid for individually. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 8, 2008.
Each Coach Adventure is intended for Filoli volunteers only and one guest for each participant, please.
